About the Designer / Artist
My name
is Gloria Villarreal, and I am the sole proprietor, the designer, and the creator
of every beautiful piece of hand crafted jewelry for GL-Pink. My company name,
GL-Pink is derived from my first name and my married name: Gloria - Pinkstaff.
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, where I lived in an atmosphere that nurtured my artistic nature. I am a multifaceted artist: a painter, a singer, and a dancer. I also am an innovative designer who creates gorgeous hand crafted fashion jewelry for you.
I originally began making jewelry more than twenty years ago in Monterrey, where I had a thriving clientele for many years. I now bring my passion for creating beauty to designing and hand crafting beautiful jewelry here in Michigan. My motto is: “Crafted in Michigan with my skilled Mexican hands!”
In 2008, I met Robert Pinkstaff while he was in Monterrey on business. Despite language differences, we fell in love, and we were married on Christmas Eve of 2008. In the spring of 2010, my husband and I moved to Lake Orion, Michigan, where I have been inspired to again create beautiful jewelry.
As an artist, I draw inspiration for my jewelry designs from many sources, including my love of: art, music, and the natural beauty of my surroundings. I incorporate these influences into my designs, along with the diverse ethnic influences I have encountered to design and hand craft unique, eye-catching fashion jewelry designed for your life time.
I utilize the highest quality materials, including a variety of natural stones, gorgeous Swarovski crystals, hypoallergenic jewelry chain, wire, and findings. This is done in order to provide you, the customer with pieces of jewelry that properly accessorize your outfit, whether that means making it “pop”, or subtly enhancing your look, with jewelry that you will be proud to wear often in the future.
Note: The painting below is Gloria's rendition of Diego Rivera's 1942 painting "Alatraz", or "The Flower Seller", In Gloria’s rendition, she has given movement to the Calla lilies, whereas Rivera painted them still. The photo is Gloria's studio work area, where she hand crafts her jewelry.
